Antiphon.

That they may all be one, as You, Father, in Me and I in You;
that they so may be one in Us,
that the world may believe that You have sent Me. (John 17:21)

Let us pray.

O Lord Jesus Christ,
You said to Your Apostles:
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you.”
Look not upon our sins, but upon the faith of Your Church,
and grant to her that peace and unity
which are agreeable to Your will,
who live and are King and God,
for ever and ever.

R. Amen.

Heavenly Father, Your blessed Son asked that His Church be one
as You and He are one,
but Christians have not been united as He prayed.
We have isolated ourselves from each other
and have failed to listen to each other.
We have misunderstood and ridiculed
and even gone so far as to attack each other.

In doing so we have offended against You,
against all our brothers and sisters in the Church
and against all who have not believed in You
because of our scandalous disunity.
Forgive us Father,
and make us fully one.
Blot out our sins,
renew our minds,
rekindle our hearts,
and guide us by Your Holy Spirit
into the oneness that is Your Will.

Jesus Christ, our Lord and our brother,
you have called us to be your one Church.
Make us one in our faith and hope,
and one in our loving service.
Make us one in worship and in daily living.

Lord Jesus,
send your Spirit to make us one
as you want us to be.

We ask this, Jesus,
for you are our Lord and our savior forever.

Amen.

Almighty and merciful God,

You willed that the different nations
should become one people through your Son.
Grant in Your kindness.
that those who glory in being known as Christians
may put aside their differences
and become one in truth and charity,
and that all human beings, enlightened by the true Faith
may be united in fraternal communion in the one Church
Through Christ our Lord. Amen

Eternal Father,
we praise you for sending your Son
to be one of us and save us.
Look upon your people with mercy
for we are divided in so many ways,
and give us the Spirit of Jesus to make us one in love.
We ask this gift, loving Father,
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for Christian Unity 3 from Catholic Doors

O God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, grant us the grace
to take to heart the scandal of our divisions. Deliver us
from all hatred and prejudice, and from all that hinders unity.
As there is but one Body and one Spirit,
one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism,
one God and Father of all,
so may we also be of one heart
and one soul,
in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Good Friday Solemn Intercessions: V. For the unity of Christians

Let us pray
for all our brothers and sisters
who share our faith in Jesus Christ,
that God may gather and keep together in one Church
all those who seek the truth with sincerity.

Almighty and eternal God,
you keep together those you have united.
Look kindly on all who follow Jesus your Son.
We are all consecrated to you by our common baptism.
Make us one in the fullness of faith,
and keep us one in the fellowship of love.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Preface of Christian Unity

Father, all-powerful and ever-living God,
we do well always and everywhere to give You thanks
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Through Christ You bring us to the knowledge of Your truth,
that we may be united by one faith and one baptism to become His body.
Through Christ You have given the Holy Spirit to all peoples.

How wonderful are the works of the Spirit,
revealed in so many gifts!
Yet how marvelous is the unity the Spirit creates from their diversity,
as He dwells in the hearts of your children,
filling the whole Church with His presence and guiding it with His wisdom!

In our joy we sing to Your glory with all the angels:

Holy, holy, holy Lord … Hosanna in the highest.

A Postcommunion Prayer

Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles, “Peace I Leave with you, My peace I give unto you;” do not consider our sins, but the faith of your Church, and give her that peace and unity which is according to your will, who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Ghost, one God, now and ever.
Gracious Father, we pray for your holy Catholic Church. Fill it With all truth, in all peace. Where it is corrupt, purify it; where it is in error, direct it; where in anything it is amiss, reform it. Where it is right, strengthen it; where it is in want, provide for it; where it is divided, reunite it; for the sake of him who died and rose again, and ever lives to make intercession for us, Jesus Christ, thy Son, our Lord.
O God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, our only Savior, The Prince of Peace; Give us grace seriously to lay to heart the great dangers we are in by our unhappy divisions. Take away all hatred and prejudice, and whatsoever else may hinder us from godly union and concord: that as there is but one Body and one Spirit, and one hope of our calling, one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, one God and Father of us all, so we may be all of one heart and of one soul, united in one holy bond of truth and peace, of faith and charity, and may with one mind and one mouth glorify you; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
